Bean Denounces Biden’s ‘Unfair’ Student Loan Forgiveness

The Floridian

WASHINGTON—President Joe Biden recently canceled another $7.7 billion in student loans for 160,000 borrowers, bringing the total forgiven to $167 billion. Representative Aaron Bean (R-FL) denounced the erasure of debt in a recent interview with The Floridian, calling it “unfair” and an attempt “to win over young people.”

Notably, the White House moved forward on forgiving an additional $7.7 billion in student loan debt “after being rebuked by Congress, saying ‘you do not have the authority to forgive student loan debt; it is not your money, Joe Biden.”

As Rep. Bean pointed out, the opposition to Biden’s student loan forgiveness plan was bicameral and bipartisan, and “that brought Congress together. Republicans, Democrats, Senators, and House members all sent that [message] to his desk. ‘You do not have that authority.’ But wait, there is more: The Supreme Court has come out and said, ‘Joe Biden, you do not have this ability.’ But this week, he did it again.”
